Indian Naval Ship Kiltan’s Visit to Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam

On May 12, 2024, INS Kiltan arrived at Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam, receiving a warm welcome from the Vietnam People’s Navy and the Indian Embassy. This visit is part of the Operational Deployment of the Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet and aims to reinforce the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two maritime nations.

India and Vietnam share a comprehensive strategic partnership, and the visit of INS Kiltan is intended to deepen these ties through various activities such as professional interactions, sports events, social exchanges, and community outreach, reflecting the shared values of both navies. The visit will culminate in a Maritime Partnership Exercise at sea between the Indian Navy and the Vietnam People’s Navy, aimed at enhancing interoperability and the exchange of best practices.

INS Kiltan, an indigenous ASW corvette, was designed by the Indian Navy’s Directorate of Naval Design and constructed by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata. It is the third of four P28 Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) corvettes.
