After arriving in Singapore on February 12, 2024, the Indian Air Force’s Sarang Helicopter Display Team conducted its inaugural practice display on February 18, 2024, operating from Changi airbase under the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF). The team is gearing up for the Singapore Airshow starting on February 20, 2024, featuring diverse display teams worldwide, along with prominent aircraft and system manufacturers.
Making its debut at the show is the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)-manufactured Advanced Light Helicopter (Dhruv), operated by the Sarang team. Notably, the Sarang team’s first international display also took place in Singapore at the Asian Aerospace Airshow in 2004.
At this year’s Singapore Airshow, the Sarang team will showcase a four-helicopter display, emphasizing the agility and manoeuvrability of the ALH Dhruv and the exceptional skills of the IAF pilots. The ALH Dhruv, an indigenously manufactured helicopter, and its advanced variants are in operational use across all branches of the Indian military, exemplifying a remarkable success story of self-reliance in the defence sector.
