Defence Secretary Visits INS Rajali, Indian Navy’s Premier Naval Air Station

On January 13, 2025, Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh visited INS Rajali, the Indian Navy’s premier Naval Air Station near Arakkonam, Tamil Nadu. During his visit, he inspected the station’s operational facilities and was briefed on its extensive operations and capability to address evolving security challenges. The visit highlighted INS Rajali’s cutting-edge infrastructure and its strategic importance in maritime surveillance and combat readiness.

Commodore Kapil Mehta, Commanding Officer of INS Rajali, provided an overview of the station’s operational preparedness and its critical role in ensuring maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh also interacted with service personnel, commending their dedication and contributions to safeguarding national maritime interests.

The Defence Secretary emphasized the importance of maintaining high combat readiness and operational vigilance to meet the dynamic challenges of the IOR’s geopolitical environment.
