The 5th Annual High-Level Meeting between the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and the Royal Oman Police Coast Guard (ROPCG) occurred in New Delhi on April 23, 2024, signifying a key advancement in collaborative efforts to counter transnational illegal activities at sea and encourage regional cooperation. Director General Rakesh Pal led the discussions for the ICG, while Assistant Officer Commanding Colonel Abdul Aziz Mohammed Ali Al Jabri headed the ROPCG delegation.

The meeting emphasized strengthening bilateral engagements through capacity-building programs, reciprocal ship visits, Sea Rider program implementation, and establishing professional connections between pollution reporting centers and other cooperative arrangements. Both parties reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing mutual cooperation in tackling maritime challenges, thus fortifying the maritime safety and security framework in the area.

Additionally, a meeting is scheduled in New Delhi on April 25, 2024, between an ROPCG delegation and representatives from the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers to acquaint them with India’s shipbuilding capabilities under the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
