Following the intensive sea training, a Valedictory Dinner was hosted for the 106 Integrated Officer Trainees Course (IOTC) aboard the First Training Squadron (1TS) on May 9, 2024. Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Among the 99 sea trainees who successfully completed training from 1TS, including international trainees, Vice Admiral Srinivas commended their achievement and presented trophies to the most outstanding trainees.

Midshipman C Praneeth was awarded the Telescope for Best All Round Sea Trainee, while Midshipman PPK Reddy received the Binocular for securing the first position in the overall Order of Merit.

Addressing the trainees, the Chief Guest encouraged them to diligently pursue knowledge and comprehend the maritime environment, staying updated on evolving warfare dynamics, tactics, technology, and strategy. He emphasized the qualities of a military leader, stressing the importance of professionalism and empathy towards subordinates while upholding speed, safety, and morale. The ethos of “Seva Parmo Dharma” or “Service Before Self” should always guide their actions.

On May 11, 2024, a Divisions ceremony took place aboard INS Tir, reviewed by Rear Admiral Satish Shenai, CSO(TRG), Southern Naval Command. Following this event, the officers will integrate into various frontline Naval warships and Coast Guard patrol vessels along the Western and Eastern Seaboard to further refine their afloat training.
