Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held discussions with His Excellency Dasho Tshering Tobgay, the Prime Minister of Bhutan, in New Delhi yesterday.
Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay is currently on an official visit to India, marking his first overseas trip since assuming office in February 2024.
During their meeting, both leaders assessed progress across various aspects of bilateral cooperation, including infrastructure development, connectivity, energy, hydropower collaboration, people-to-people exchanges, and development assistance. They reiterated their commitment to strengthening the special and unique friendship between India and Bhutan.
The Prime Minister of Bhutan expressed deep gratitude for India’s role as a reliable, trusted, and valued partner in Bhutan’s developmental endeavors.
On behalf of His Majesty the King of Bhutan, PM Tshering Tobgay extended an invitation to Prime Minister Modi to visit Bhutan next week, which was graciously accepted by Prime Minister Modi.
