The highly anticipated INDUS-X Summit, slated for February 20-21, 2024, in New Delhi, stands as a significant achievement in the collaborative endeavors between India and the United States in defense innovation. Facilitated by Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) under the Ministry of Defence, Department of Defence Production, and the U.S. Department of Defence, in partnership with the U.S.-India Business Council and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), the summit aims to be a transformative event fostering strategic technology partnerships and defense industrial cooperation between the two nations.
Since its launch in June 2023 during Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s State Visit to the US, the India-U.S. Defence Acceleration Ecosystem (INDUS-X) has played a leading role in expanding bilateral ties in defense innovation. Now, with the upcoming INDUS-X Summit, stakeholders from both countries will gather in New Delhi to explore and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
This two-day catalyst summit will encompass a diverse range of activities, including panel discussions, workshops, senior leaders’ forums, and the felicitation of joint challenge winners. The agenda is crafted to foster collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange, guiding the future trajectory of U.S.-India defense relations. Participants from governments, academic and research institutions, investors, defense start-ups, technology incubators, industry associations, and other start-up enablers will collaborate to develop ambitious initiatives propelling INDUS-X forward. The event will also honor the Joint INDUS-X challenge winners under the IMPACT initiative.
The INDUS-X Summit signifies a crucial juncture for advancing defense innovation and collaboration between India and the United States. It lays the groundwork for future technological advancements, strategic partnerships, and the development of cross-national science and technology networks. The summit is poised to strengthen connections among domestic entrepreneurs, markets, skilling institutions, government labs, and investment capital, crucial for building successful innovation ecosystems.
