SFC and DRDO conducted a successful flight test of Agni-Prime, a new-generation ballistic missile, from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast on April 03, 2024, around 1900 hrs. The test achieved all trial objectives, confirming its reliable performance through data collected by range sensors deployed at various locations, including two downrange ships positioned at the terminal point. The launch was observed by the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Strategic Forces Command, and senior officials from DRDO and the Indian Army.
Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh extended congratulations to DRDO, SFC, and the Armed Forces for the successful test. He emphasized that the successful development and deployment of the missile will significantly enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Secretary, Department of Defence R&D, and Chairman DRDO Dr Samir V Kamat commended the efforts of SFC and DRDO for the successful flight test.
