They covered a range of bilateral, regional security, and defense cooperation topics, including recent events like the INDUS-X Summit in New Delhi and the ‘Tiger Triumph’ exercise starting in India on the same day.
Secretary Austin praised the Indian Navy’s anti-piracy efforts in the Indian Ocean Region. They also explored ways to implement the India-US Defence Cooperation Roadmap and touched on defense industrial cooperation, such as the repair of US naval ships in Indian shipyards.
The last time they met was in New Delhi in November 2023 during the India-US Ministerial 2+2 Dialogue.
