The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, inaugurated, dedicated to the nation, and laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth over Rs 32,000 crores in Jammu today. The projects encompass sectors such as health, education, rail, road, aviation, petroleum, and civic infrastructure. Additionally, the Prime Minister distributed appointment orders to approximately 1500 new Government recruits of Jammu and Kashmir and interacted with beneficiaries of various government schemes as part of the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu’ program.
During the interaction, beneficiaries shared their experiences with government schemes. For instance, Veena Devi from Kishtwar district discussed the positive impact of the Ujjwala Yojna on her life, while Kirti Sharma of Kathua, a beneficiary of Rashtriya Ajivika Abhiyan, highlighted the benefits of being part of a Self Help Group. Mr. Laal Mohammad from Poonch expressed gratitude for receiving support under PM Awas Yojna to build a pucca home.
Furthermore, Ms. Shaheena Begum from Bandipora shared her journey from facing unemployment to becoming a Lakhpati Didi through a self-help group and honey farming. Riyaz Ahmed Koli of Pulwama, a beneficiary of Jal Jeevan Mission, praised the positive transformation brought about by piped water in his village.
The Prime Minister underscored the significance of development projects worth Rs 32,000 crore, emphasizing their impact on education, skill development, jobs, health, industry, and connectivity. He lauded the spirit of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and assured that the government is committed to reaching every deserving beneficiary.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister highlighted the major strides in education and health infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, including the establishment of new educational institutes, medical colleges, and AIIMS. He spoke about the positive changes in the atmosphere of the Union Territory, emphasizing the end of dynastic politics and the focus on the welfare of the poor, farmers, youth, and Nari Shakti.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence in making Jammu and Kashmir a hub of education and skill development. He recalled the guarantee made in 2013 regarding the creation of IIT and IIM in Jammu and Kashmir, which is now fulfilled. He praised the achievements in education, with the establishment of new schools, colleges, and universities.
Regarding health facilities, the Prime Minister highlighted the increase in the number of medical colleges, MBBS and PG seats, and the establishment of AIIMS. He acknowledged the positive impact of the abrogation of Article 370, leading to a balanced development and the end of dynastic politics in the region.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the government’s commitment to social justice, noting the inclusion of communities in SC and ST categories. He emphasized the development of women in Jammu and Kashmir, citing the construction of pucca houses, distribution of Ayushman Cards, and the NaMo Drone Didi scheme.
The Prime Minister outlined various road and rail projects that will enhance connectivity in the region, including the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, Srinagar Ring Road, and electrification of rail sections. He highlighted the government’s focus on overall development, infrastructure, and tourism, attracting global attention and investment.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister expressed confidence in India becoming the third-largest economic power in the world in the next five years. He emphasized the government’s commitment to providing welfare schemes and infrastructure development, benefiting every family in Jammu and Kashmir.
