Prime Minister inaugurates ‘Ayush Projects’ in Jhajjar and Pune

Opening of 'Central Research Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy' in Jhajjar, Haryana, and the inauguration of 'National Institute of Naturopathy, NISARG GRAM,' in Pune, Maharashtra

Today, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated two institutes of the Ministry of Ayush, further advancing the holistic healthcare landscape in the country. The ‘Central Research Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy’ (CRIYN) in Jhajjar, Haryana, and the National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN) named ‘NISARG GRAM’ in Pune, Maharashtra, were officially launched.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi emphasized the government’s commitment to boosting immunity and disease resistance. The focus has been on nutrition, Yoga, Ayurveda, and hygiene to prevent diseases. The Prime Minister highlighted the promotion of both traditional Indian systems of medicine and modern medicine. He inaugurated two significant hospitals and research centers related to Yoga and Naturopathy in Maharashtra and Haryana. Additionally, a World Health Organization (WHO) center related to traditional medicine is being established in Gujarat.

Union Minister of Ayush and Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, joined the event virtually from Kalyani, West Bengal. Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Eknath Shinde, and Union Minister of State for Ayush and Women and Child Development, Dr. Munjpara Mahendra Bhai, also participated in the event virtually from Gujarat.

At the on-site inaugural event of the ‘Central Research Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy’ in Jhajjar, Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar expressed gratitude for the golden opportunity presented to Devarkhana village. He noted the global recognition achieved by Yoga due to the Prime Minister’s efforts, spreading the strength of Indian traditional systems of medicine worldwide.

The ‘Central Research Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy, Jhajjar (Haryana),’ developed under the Ministry of Ayush, is an apex-level Yoga and Naturopathy research and education facility. The project aims to establish tertiary-level healthcare infrastructure for Yoga and Naturopathy, including a 200-bed hospital with OPD, Treatment Block, Academic block, Hostel, Residential Block, Yoga Block, and Diet Block. The 19-acre project was built at a cost of INR 63.88 crore.

Meanwhile, ‘NISARG GRAM’ is a 250-bedded hospital with a Multi-disciplinary Research and Extension Service Centre, along with a Naturopathy Medical College offering Undergraduate (UG)/Postgraduate (PG)/Para Medical Courses. The college features residential and non-residential facilities, including Boys & Girls Hostel, Auditorium, Yoga Hall, Cottages, and the renowned Gandhi Memorial Hall, as integral parts of the campus. The 25-acre project incurred a total cost of INR 213.55 crore.

The National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN) in Pune and the Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN) in Deverkhana Village, Jhajjar, stand as significant milestones in promoting holistic healthcare through Traditional Healthcare systems. These institutes employ diverse approaches such as hydrotherapy, massage, clinical nutrition, and yoga therapy to prevent and address emerging healthcare challenges, particularly the growing prevalence of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). With their state-of-the-art infrastructure and educational programs, these institutes aim to empower individuals to prioritize their health and well-being.
