On March 28, 2024, LSAM 18 delivered at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai

On March 28, 2024, LSAM 18, part of 11x ACTCM Barge Project by MSME Shipyard, M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane, was delivered to the Indian Navy at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai for NAD(Karanja). The induction ceremony was overseen by Cmde Vikram Bora, ND(Mbi)/GM(Tech).

The contract, signed on March 5, 2021, between MoD and M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane, facilitated the construction. These barges bolster IN’s operational commitments by aiding transportation and embarkation/disembarkation of articles/ammunition.

Indigenously designed and built, they adhere to Naval Rules and Regulations of Indian Register of Shipping. Model testing occurred at Naval Science and Technological Laboratory, Visakhapatnam, showcasing the Make in India initiative.
