Indian Navy and IIT Kharagpur Sign Memorandum of Understanding

The Indian Navy and IIT Kharagpur collaborate to foster innovation through a research partnership.

Today, the Indian Navy and the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Naval Headquarters, New Delhi, demonstrating their dedication to advancing technology, fostering innovative solutions, and engaging in joint research and development. Rear Admiral K Srinivas, Assistant Chief of Materiel (Dockyard & Refit) at Naval Headquarters, and Prof. (Ms) Rintu Banerjee, Dean (R&D) of IIT Kharagpur, signed the MoU in the presence of Prof. Virendra Kumar Tiwari, Director of IIT Kharagpur.

This strategic partnership will focus on collaborative research and development projects involving teams from both the Indian Navy and IIT Kharagpur, with coordination facilitated by INS Shivaji, Lonavala.

This collaboration marks a significant step toward establishing a mutually beneficial relationship between academia and the military, creating an environment conducive to innovation and the exchange of knowledge.
