India-Mozambique-Tanzania Trilat Exercise 2024

INS Tir and INS Sujata will join the second India Mozambique Tanzania (IMT) Tri Lateral (TRILAT) Exercise, a maritime drill from 21-29 Mar 24. The first IMT TRILAT in Oct 22 featured INS Tarkash with Tanzanian and Mozambique Navies.

The exercise comprises two phases. The harbour phase (21-24 Mar 24) includes joint activities like Damage Control, Fire Fighting, Visit Board Search and Seizure, Medical Lectures, Casualty Evacuation, and Diving ops. The sea phase (24-27 Mar 24) covers countering asymmetric threats, boat handling, manoeuvres, firing exercises, and joint EEZ surveillance. A debrief will conclude the exercise at Nacala (Mozambique).

During harbour stays, Indian Naval ships will engage in cultural exchanges, sports, and welcome visitors. Training visits for sea trainees of 106 Integrated Officers Training Course are also scheduled.
