Union Minister of AYUSH and Ports, Shipping & Waterways Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, along with Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, is set to launch the Ayush-ICMR Advanced Centre for Integrative Health Research (AI-ACIHR) at four selected AIIMS and initiate a multicenter clinical trial on Anaemia. Additionally, the ministers will announce the Indian Public Health Standards for Ayush healthcare facilities and participate in the 27th Convocation of Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth.
At AIIMS Delhi, the AI-ACIHR will focus on Gastro-intestinal Disorders and Women and Child Health. AIIMS Jodhpur will host an Advanced Centre for Integrative Health Research in Geriatric Health. AIIMS Nagpur will specialize in Cancer Care, while AIIMS Rishikesh will focus on Geriatric Health.
The multicenter clinical trial on Anaemia, conducted by CCRAS under the Ministry of Ayush and ICMR, will assess the efficacy and safety of Punarnavadi Mandura alone and in combination with Drakshavaleha compared to iron folic acid in treating moderate iron deficiency anaemia among non-pregnant women of reproductive age. The study will span eight different sites across India.
The launch of Indian Public Health Standards for Ayush healthcare facilities aims to establish uniform standards for infrastructure, human resources, medicines, and more. By adhering to these standards, states and union territories can provide quality Ayush healthcare services, aligning with the principles of the National Health Policy (NHP) 2017, which emphasizes pluralism in healthcare.
The 27th Convocation and 29th National Seminar of Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth will witness the awarding of CRAV certificates to 201 shishyas enrolled under Guru shishya Parampara. Eminent vaidyas will be honored with the Fellow of RAV (FRAV) award and a Lifetime Achievement award for their significant contributions to the betterment of Ayurveda. The ceremony will also welcome new CRAV students for the batch 2024-25. A two-day National Seminar on “Ayurvedo Amritanam” will explore Ayurveda for one health, post-COVID health management, and immunity through Ayurveda.
