Admiral Muhammad Ali, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, is currently on an official visit to India as part of a high-level delegation accompanying His Excellency President Prabowo Subianto, the Chief Guest for the Republic Day Parade 2025. During his visit, Admiral Ali and Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, held bilateral talks to enhance maritime cooperation and strengthen the bonds between the two close maritime neighbors.
Key topics of discussion between the two naval leaders included advancing joint initiatives like Exercise Samudra Shakti, improving operational collaboration, and addressing shared maritime challenges such as piracy and other illegal activities at sea.
The visit also included engagements at prominent maritime institutions, such as the Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR) and the Weapons and Electronics Systems Engineering Establishment (WESEE), with a focus on boosting regional cooperation and maritime domain awareness. Admiral Ali also visited BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited (BAPL), where he exchanged ideas on further enhancing bilateral defense and strategic cooperation.
