DRDO carries out Mission Divyastra successfully

The inaugural flight of the domestically produced Agni-5 missile features MIRV technology

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has accomplished the inaugural successful flight trial of the Agni-5 missile, featuring Multiple Independently Targetable Re-Entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology. Named Mission Divyastra, this test was executed from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. An array of Telemetry and radar stations meticulously monitored the trajectory of multiple re-entry vehicles, achieving the designated parameters.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi commended the dedication of the DRDO scientists involved in orchestrating this intricate Mission. He expressed his pride on the social media platform X, stating, “I commend our DRDO scientists for Mission Divyastra, marking the debut flight trial of the Agni-5 missile with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.”

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh also extended congratulations to the scientists and the entire team, hailing it as a remarkable triumph.
