Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, visited the NCC Republic Day Parade Camp at Delhi Cantt. on January 9, 2025. Addressing the cadets, he encouraged them to strive for excellence and highlighted that serving the nation extends beyond the Armed Forces. He emphasized that the foundation laid by the NCC prepares them for leadership roles across various fields.
General Dwivedi praised the NCC’s selfless contributions to nation-building and commended the cadets for their active participation in community programs, blood donation drives, environmental conservation initiatives, and social awareness activities. Reflecting on his own cadet days, he underscored the pivotal role today’s cadets will play in shaping a developed India (Viksit Bharat).
He concluded his address by wishing the cadets success in their future endeavors and reiterated their importance as future leaders of a prosperous and strong India. Quoting the late General Bipin Rawat, the first Chief of Defence Staff, he said, “Silently carve out your identity, for the winds will sing your praise.”
During the program, General Dwivedi reviewed the Guard of Honour presented by Army, Navy, Air Force, and girl cadet contingents. He also witnessed a band performance by the Government High School, Mizoram, and appreciated the cadets’ efforts in creating a theme-based ‘Flag Area’ showcasing social awareness and community development campaigns.
The cadets demonstrated their model-building skills with static and functional ship models. They also presented a cultural program featuring music, vocal performances, and demonstrative arts, reflecting their commitment to the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.’”
