Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of the Air Staff, paid a visit to the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington on March 22, 2024. During his visit, he addressed the student officers enrolled in the 79th Staff Course from the Indian Armed Forces and Friendly Foreign Countries, along with the permanent staff of DSSC.
In his address, the Chief of the Air Staff discussed the challenges faced by the Indian Air Force, its capability development plan, and the importance of jointmanship. He emphasized the transition of the IAF into a contemporary and future-ready Aerospace Force, aligning with the vision outlined in the IAF doctrine. This vision underscores the need for an agile and adaptive Air Force capable of providing decisive aerospace power in the pursuit of national interests.
Additionally, Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari highlighted the significant role played by the IAF in evacuating the Indian diaspora from conflict zones and participating in disaster relief operations. He also drew lessons from ongoing conflicts such as the Russia-Ukraine War and the Israel-Hamas conflict to enhance air power strategies.
Furthermore, the Chief of the Air Staff received a briefing on the ongoing training activities and the focus on jointmanship at DSSC, which was well-received and appreciated.
